In the early 1990s, a seismic shift occurred in the world of gaming with the arrival of the Sega Mega Drive and its iconic mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog. This dynamic duo not only revolutionized the gaming landscape but also left an indelible mark on pop culture.

The Sega Mega Drive, known as the Genesis in North America, burst onto the scene in 1988, offering cutting-edge graphics and gameplay that pushed the boundaries of what was possible in home entertainment. With its sleek design and impressive library of games, it quickly became a staple in living rooms around the globe, unfortunately not in mine.

But it was the introduction of Sonic the Hedgehog in 1991 that truly catapulted Sega into the gaming stratosphere.

Developed as a response to Nintendo's Mario, Sonic brought speed and attitude to the platforming genre. With his trademark blue fur, it became an instant icon.
